More About Book

Between Square Buttes is a series of stories from my life over the last 50 years. They are told anecdotally rather than chronologically to explain what has happened to the West in general. It focuses on Montana in particular, and my reflections of those times as a man. As a clear window into the past, it’s not a single memoir, but a series of them, and perhaps of a time gone by.

I initially wrote only standalone short stories, but they evolved into a series as the book took on a life of its own. Its impact will be only as much as the truth allows. To me, it is my truth, my life, lived my way, and is up to your interpretation in how you see it, and judge the truth for what it is.

More About Author

Terry Courtright’s story is as complex as the books he writes. It begins in the mountains of the West as his father takes Terry with him on his survey crew in the high Sierras. From Lake Tahoe to Mammoth lakes, he walks the rivers and lakes of the Toiyabe National Forest, and his love of fishing becomes his first obsession. After a successful basketball career that took him though college, Courtright entered the world of advertising agencies, where media creation and account management supplant the great outdoors. Then he went onto media sales in newspaper, television production and management, and more agency work.
